Patty Born

Patty Born is a researcher at Hamline University, serving as the director of Environmental Education and co-director of Environment and Climate Studies. She specializes in human-animal interactions, nature connectedness, and environmental justice, drawing from her scholarly work on children's relationships with animals at a farm-based nature preschool.

Her career bridges formal and nonformal science education, including roles as a park naturalist, museum educator, and conservation educator. She has extensive experience in resource management, conducting controlled burns, wildlife surveys, and reforestation projects.
