Patrick Tang

Professor Patrick Tang is a faculty member at the University of Newcastle within the School of Architecture and Built Environment, specializing in Construction Management. His research focuses on sustainable construction materials and technologies aimed at reducing environmental impact while enhancing structural functionality. A leader in the Circular Economy and Sustainable Construction research group, he has published over 140 Q1 journal articles with >6000 citations (h-index 43).

His work spans thermal energy storage concrete, low-carbon materials, and AI applications in construction. Recent projects include SmartCrete CRC (AU$21M) and NSW Environmental Trust grants.
