Patrick R. Ireland is a Professor of Political Science at the Lewis College of Science and Letters, Illinois Institute of Technology (Illinois Tech). He holds a Ph.D., M.A., and M.P.H. from Harvard University, University of Texas, and a B.A. (summa cum laude) from the University of Notre Dame. His research focuses on urban-level migrant integration, migration-driven diversity in health systems, and cultural policy in global cities. He has conducted fieldwork across five continents and received grants from institutions like the Fulbright Program, Krupp Foundation, and Rockefeller Foundation.
His expertise spans urban politics, African/European politics, and mixed-methods research. Key projects include studies on West African migrants in African/Southern European cities and migration impacts on health systems.
