About
Patrick R. Colabella is an Associate Professor of Accounting and Taxation at St. John’s University’s Peter J. Tobin College of Business. He holds an Ed.D. in Instructional Leadership from St. John’s University, an MBA in Taxation from Pace University, and a BS in Accounting from St. John’s University. Dr. Colabella has served as faculty advisor for Beta Alpha Psi for 19 years and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the International Business Honor Society. He has extensive industry experience, including roles at Deloitte and Axa Financial, and is a semi-retired senior partner at Colabella & Company LLP.
His research focuses on global taxation, public finance, and socioeconomic ideologies, emphasizing tax reform and government accountability. He founded the Global Institute for Taxation, a scholarly research institute advising on tax policy. He has published in The CPA Journal and authored a book critiquing socialism’s fiscal impacts. Dr. Colabella has received multiple teaching awards, including Teacher of the Year at Tobin College and Staten Island Campus.
Community involvement includes roles as Treasurer of Xaverian High School Alumni Association, Chair of Bay Ridge Community Council’s Finance Committee, and Treasurer of the Bay Ridge Italian Opera Company. He is a vocalist with the St. Bernadette Church choir and has performed in stage productions like 42nd Street and Cavaleria Rusticana.
