Dr. Patrick Palmer is a Professor and Graduate Student Supervisor in the School of Mechatronic Systems Engineering at Simon Fraser University (SFU), Vancouver, Canada. He holds a PhD from Imperial College London (UK) and an M.A. from the University of Cambridge (UK). Previously, he was a faculty member at the University of Cambridge and an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia. He is an Emeritus Fellow of St Catharine's College, Cambridge. His research focuses on power semiconductor devices, wide bandgap technologies, sustainable energy systems, and high-power applications such as ship propulsion and electric vehicles. He teaches courses including MSE 353 (Power Electronics and Electrical Motors) and has over 100 peer-reviewed publications in power electronics and related fields.
