Patrick Geary is Professor at the Institute for Advanced Study focusing on medieval culture and society (500-1200 CE). His interdisciplinary research integrates historical methods with genetic analysis to study migration patterns. Notable works include The Myth of Nations which challenges nationalist interpretations of medieval history. Geary directs the St. Gall Monastery Plan Digital Project and leads genomic studies of Longobard migrations.
