Patrick Callaway

Patrick Callaway is an Adjunct Professor of History at the University of Maine, specializing in Atlantic World connections between American agriculture and imperial dynamics from 1765-1815. His research emphasizes Nova Scotia’s role in Anglo-American diplomacy, particularly during the War of 1812. He holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Maine (2019), alongside degrees from Montana State University and the University of Montana Western.

Callaway has taught courses including HTY 105/106 (Ancient/Modern Europe), HTY 240 (Atlantic World), and HTY 357 (Napoleonic Empire). He has held notable fellowships including a Fulbright to Canada (2018-19) and the Susan J. Hunter Teaching Fellowship (2018).
