Patrick Boudreault

Dr. Patrick Boudreault serves as Executive Editor of the Deaf Studies Digital Journal (DSDJ) at Gallaudet University, leading efforts to advance multimodal scholarly publishing through Deaf perspectives. A prominent figure in Deaf Studies, he was awarded the 2024 Edward Allen Fay Award for his transformative work in accessibility and academic publishing. His research focuses on legal accessibility for Deaf communities, genetic counseling, bilingual education, and sign language technology. Boudreault has spearheaded the migration of DSDJ to modern platforms, ensuring its sustainability while preserving its innovative multimedia format originally developed by Gallaudet faculty. His recent work includes studies on Deaf experiences in the justice system and bilingual health education modules for the Deaf community.
