Patricia RUNCAN

Assoc. Univ. Dr. Patricia RUNCAN is an Associate Professor at the Department of Social Assistance, Faculty of Sociology and Psychology, West University of Timişoara. She holds a PhD in Sociology-Social Assistance and a habilitation thesis from the Romanian Academy. Her roles include teaching courses such as Case Management and Child Protection, advising doctoral students since 2015, and organizing international conferences like the Social Work Symposium and ISSA. Her research focuses on family dynamics, burnout among professionals, and resilience.

Education: She earned a Social Work degree (2001) and a Law and Public Administration degree (2004). She completed her PhD in 2009 and habilitation in 2014. She also held a postdoctoral grant at 'Alexandru Ioan Cuza' University (2011).

Research Interests: Family and child welfare, parenting practices, supervision in social services, and professional burnout. She has authored/co-authored numerous books and articles, including works on burnout, emotional intelligence, and supervisory practices.
