Patricia Moy

Patricia Moy is a Professor and Christy Cressey Professor of Communication at the University of Washington, affiliated with the Department of Communication (College of Arts & Sciences) and serving as Adjunct Professor of Political Science. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and M.S. and B.S. degrees from Cornell University. As Associate Vice Provost for Academic and Student Affairs, she oversees accreditation processes and tricampus collaborations.

Her research focuses on political communication, public opinion, and media effects on citizenship. Key works include With Malice Toward All? (2000) and Communication and Community (2019), exploring media negativity and communication within diverse communities. She teaches courses in communication theory, political communication, and research methods.
