Patricia Marin is an Associate Professor in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education (HALE) at Michigan State University (MSU), serving as program coordinator for the Student Affairs Administration Master's Degree Program. She is also core faculty in Chicano/Latino Studies and a faculty affiliate with the College of Law. Her research focuses on research use in policy/practice (especially law), Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI), admissions policies, affirmative action, Latinx student success, and diversity in college classrooms. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland.
Key publications include co-edited volumes on Bakke’s legacy in affirmative action and higher education equity. Prior roles include associate director at the University of California Educational Evaluation Center and work at The Civil Rights Project (Harvard) and American Council on Education. Her work bridges legal, institutional, and policy dimensions of education equity, with emphasis on HSI dynamics and racial diversity initiatives.
