Patricia J. Slagter van Tryon

Dr. Patricia J. Slagter van Tryon is a Professor at East Carolina University in the Department of Mathematics, Science, and Instructional Technology Education, where she coordinates the Instructional Technology program and delivers 100% online graduate courses for the Master of Arts in Education and Master of Science in Instructional Technology degrees.

Education:

• Ph.D. in Educational Technology with a minor in Sociology from Lehigh University

Research Focus: Her work explores social cognition, schema revision strategies, and instructional e-mmediacy in online learning environments, alongside advancing best practices in instructional design and development for digital education.

Editorial Leadership: She serves as Chief Editor of the Journal of Open Distance and Digital Education (JODDE), a diamond open access journal under the University of Oldenburg Press.
