Patricia A. Hickey

Patricia A. Hickey is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School, serving as Senior Vice President and Associate Chief Nurse for Cardiovascular, Perioperative, & Critical Care at Boston Children's Hospital. Her expertise spans leadership development, patient safety, and global pediatric healthcare policy.

She holds advanced degrees including a PhD, MBA, and is a Registered Nurse (RN) with Fellow status in the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN). Her research focuses on improving pediatric care outcomes through technology-driven education, exemplified by her leadership in the International Quality Improvement Collaborative, which reduced mortality in 25,000 patients across 39 global centers.

Dr. Hickey’s global contributions include co-founding a nonprofit in Guatemala, volunteering with Project HOPE in China for 25 years, and directing the Nursing World Shared Practice Forum. She chairs committees for the Global Humanitarian Forum for Congenital Heart Surgery and the American College of Cardiology.
