Patrice Silver

Patrice Silver is an Assistant Professor at the School of Education, Notre Dame of Maryland University. She teaches programs in TESOL and Leadership in Teaching, focusing on supporting immigrant learners and advancing educational equity.

• Education: Ph.D. Candidate in Instructional Leadership for Changing Populations (NDMU), M.A. in English/TESOL (Salisbury University), B.A. in General Arts and Science/Middle Eastern Studies (Pennsylvania State University)

Her research and advocacy center on social justice for immigrant communities, including co-creating the documentary The New Immigrant, Changing Populations on the Eastern Shore. She has presented extensively on topics like competency-based instruction, multilevel ESL classrooms, and contextualizing language learning for healthcare careers. As a mentor, she volunteers with high school and community college immigrant students to guide them through college transitions and persistence strategies.
