Patrice Kohl

Patrice Kohl is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Studies at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF). Their research focuses on how communication, values, and beliefs shape public views on environmental and scientific issues. Current research topics include CRISPR-based conservation, space junk risks, and carbon sequestration markets via climate-smart agriculture.

• Science communication strategies for policy and public outreach

Before academia, Kohl worked as a journalist in Alaska, reporting on fisheries and environmental issues, and contributed to outreach projects including salmon monitoring programs and wetland publications.
