Dr. Pat Maher is a Full Professor of Physical and Health Education at Nipissing University's Faculty of Education and Professional Studies, serving in the Schulich School of Education. An interdisciplinary scholar, his research examines experiential learning in peripheral regions, sustainability education, and outdoor pedagogy in Arctic contexts.
Maher's publications investigate tourism sustainability, environmental education, and the intersection of outdoor learning with global challenges. He currently serves as managing editor of the Journal of Adventure Education and Outdoor Learning and holds editorial positions with several academic journals.
