Dr. Partow Kebriaei serves as Professor in the Department of Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy within the Division of Cancer Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. A Yale University graduate (B.S. 1993) and UT Houston medical school alumna (M.D. 1997), she completed her clinical training at UT Southwestern and the University of Chicago before joining MD Anderson in 2003.
Her research focuses on advancing leukemia treatment through innovative cellular therapies:
- Leading the development of MD Anderson's acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) transplant program
- Designing reduced-toxicity transplant preparative regimens combining chemotherapy with cellular therapies
- Pioneering CD19-directed T cell therapy for lymphoid malignancies
- Investigating mesenchymal stromal cells for graft-versus-host disease treatment
- Co-founding the CARTOX committee for safe cellular therapy administration
Dr. Kebriaei actively contributes to phase I/II clinical trials and serves as a reviewer for major hematology/oncology journals. Her professional affiliations include the American Association for Cancer Research, American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation.
As an educator and clinician, she mentors trainees within MD Anderson's robust research ecosystem while maintaining active patient care responsibilities in the stem cell transplantation program.
