Parisa Nourani Rinaldi

Parisa Nourani Rinaldi (she/her/hers) is an Assistant Professor in the Environmental Studies Department at St. Mary's College of Maryland. Her research focuses on humanity’s relationship with nature, water justice, climate humanities, and coastal resilience in Colombia and the Chesapeake region. She holds an MS in Geosciences from Georgia State University and a BS in Environmental Studies from Emory University.

Research Interests: Her work examines extractive frontiers, Latin American transition discourses (e.g., buen vivir), and the coloniality of environmental management. She employs discourse analysis and ethnography, with publications in journals like Water International and Latin American Perspectives.
