His research focuses on signal transduction mechanisms in autoimmunity, inflammation, and cancer, with an emphasis on NF-κB signaling and O-GlcNAcylation. Key projects include studying O-GlcNAc regulation of NF-κB in diabetes and leukemia, Sam68's role in inflammatory diseases, and immunometabolic pathways in cancer. His work integrates cellular/molecular biology, animal models, and clinical collaborations to advance drug discovery.
Recent publications highlight his contributions to understanding NF-κB's role in psoriasis, O-GlcNAc's immune system impacts, and SARS-CoV-2 inhibition strategies. He has secured 9 international patents and holds multiple grants, including NIH-funded projects.
Dr. Ramakrishnan's lab collaborates extensively with chemists and clinicians, emphasizing translational research. His expertise spans immunology, molecular biology, and glycobiology, with a focus on translating discoveries into clinical applications for autoimmune diseases and cancer.
