Pablo Torres Ferrera is a Post Doctoral Researcher at Politecnico di Torino, working with the Optical Communications (OptCom) research group. His research focuses on Optical Access Networks, Optical Fronthaul for 5G, and Data Center Interconnects.
His educational background includes:
- B.Eng in Telecommunications from the School of Engineering (FI) of the National University of Mexico (UNAM), 2010
- Master in Telecommunications Engineering (with honors) from the Institute of Engineering (II), UNAM, 2012
- PhD in Telecommunications Engineering (with honors) from the Institute of Engineering (II), UNAM, 2017
Dr. Torres' research interests span Optical Communications, Telecommunications Engineering, Optical Networking, 5G Networks, and Data Center Networking. His work has particularly focused on high-speed optical communication systems, including SOA pre-amplified WDM systems, EML-based IM-DD-OOFDM WDM systems, and radio-over-fiber mobile fronthaul systems using DSP-based FDM aggregation. He has also investigated the impact of filtering concatenation on Nyquist WDM superchannels.
He is currently a member of the Optical Communications (OptCom) research group at Politecnico di Torino.
