Pablo R Garcia

Pablo R Garcia serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Contemporary Practices at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He previously directed the Earl and Brenda Shapiro Center for Research + Collaboration (2017-2019) and currently chairs the Faculty Contract and Tenure Review Board (2021-2024).

His educational background includes a B.Arch from Cornell University (1998) and an M.Arch from Princeton University (2003), establishing a strong foundation in architectural theory that informs his contemporary art practice.

Garcia's research spans digital art, architectural theory, and privacy studies, with particular focus on drawing machines, pen plotters, and ecological design.
