His research focuses on nanoscale magnetic phenomena, particularly using nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond for ultra-sensitive imaging and spectroscopy. Techniques include Scanning NV Microscopy, Ferromagnetic Resonance Force Microscopy (FMRFM), and Spin-Torque studies. Current projects target antiferromagnetic spintronics, skyrmion dynamics, and high-frequency spin transport.
The 15 most recent publications highlight studies on quantum sensing, spin-orbit coupling, and skyrmion imaging in 2D systems, with applications in antiferromagnets, chiral magnets, and spintronic devices. Key methods involve NV center-based magnetometry, broadband FMR, and micromagnetic simulations.
- Fellow, The American Association for the Advancement of Science (2005)
- Fellow, The American Physical Society (1998)
He has advised numerous postdoctoral researchers, graduate, and undergraduate students, many of whom have pursued careers in academia and industry. His lab is supported by grants from DARPA MURI, Army Research Office, Department of Energy, and National Science Foundation.
