Dr. Osman Kaftanoglu is a researcher in the School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University since 2005. His work focuses on apiculture, honey bee genetics, and social insect behavior. He pioneered in vitro rearing techniques and cryopreservation of honey bee semen.
He earned a BS in Agriculture (1975) from Cukurova University, Turkey, and a PhD in Entomology (1983) from the University of California, Davis. His career included leadership roles at Cukurova University (1994-2004 as Professor) and visiting scientist positions.
