Oscar Torres

Oscar Torres, PhD is a Lecturer in the Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of San Diego. He earned his PhD in Psychology with a specialization in Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).

• Research Focus: Molecular adaptations following drug exposure, mood disorders linked to addiction, and gender-based substance misuse mechanisms.
• Teaching: Specializes in biological psychology and research methods courses.
• Training: Conducted internships at the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) and the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA).
• Awards: Pre-doctoral Dodson Research Fellowship and Scientific Director’s Fellowship for Diversity in Research.
