Orkun Saka

Orkun Saka is an Associate Professor of Economics at City, University of London (specifically City St George's), and holds a Visiting Senior Fellow position at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He is also a Research Affiliate at the CESifo network, a Research Associate at STICERD, and has previously visited research institutions including UC Berkeley and University of Cambridge.

His research focuses on Financial Intermediation, International Finance, and Political Economy. Recent work examines cultural stereotypes in multinational banking, political accountability during financial crises, and the role of AI in research reproducibility assessment. His academic papers have been published in leading economics journals including The Economic Journal and Journal of Money, Credit and Banking.

Dr. Saka has been actively involved in organizing academic events, including co-organizing the 3rd London Political Finance (POLFIN) Workshop featuring a keynote by Anat Admati from Stanford. His current research pipeline includes multiple papers under review at prestigious journals such as the Journal of the European Economic Association, International Economic Review, and Nature.
