Orkan Telhan is a Visiting Professor at the Stuart Weitzman School of Design, University of Pennsylvania. Previously, he served as an Associate Professor of Fine Arts in Emerging Design Practices. He leads the Data Systems and Intelligence group at Ecovative, a biomaterials company, and is a fellow at MIT’s Art, Culture, and Technology program. As president of the Biodesign Challenge, he promotes interdisciplinary approaches to biological design.
His research focuses on biodesign, biomaterials, and the intersection of art with technology. Notable projects include works exhibited at the Istanbul Biennial, Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, and the Design Museum in London.
