About
Orjon Rroji, Ph.D. is a former Research Fellow in the Laboratory for Neural Redox Biology and Homeostatic Transcription at the Burke Neurological Institute, affiliated with Weill Cornell Medicine. His research focuses on epigenetic regulators of neuronal ferroptosis and their therapeutic implications for neurological diseases. He contributed to understanding how HDACs, transglutaminases, and HIF prolyl hydroxylases modulate cellular stress responses in neurodegenerative contexts.
His work bridges molecular mechanisms with translational neuroscience, aiming to identify novel drug targets for conditions such as stroke and neurodegeneration. Though no formal academic awards are listed, his research outputs highlight contributions to redox biology and neuroprotection. He was part of the Ratan Lab, collaborating on interdisciplinary projects at the Burke Neurological Institute.
