Orhon Myadar

Orhon Myadar serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, maintaining an office in Saunders Hall 420 with contact via telephone (808) 956-8465 or email orhon@hawaii.edu.

He earned his PhD in Political Science from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in 2007, establishing his academic foundation in geopolitical analysis.

His research spans Political Geography, Human Geography, and Migration Studies, with current work examining socio-economic and environmental impacts of Mongolia's cashmere industry. He investigates how political forces shape everyday spaces, influencing human movement and belonging in global contexts, while teaching courses including GEO 335 (Politics, Nations, and States), GEO 436 (Geography of Peace and War), and GEO 745 (Seminar: Geographies of Migration).
