About
Omar Mohsen is a Lecturer at the University of Paris-Saclay since 2021, specializing in mathematics with a focus on partial differential equations and sub-Riemannian geometry. He completed his PhD in 2018 at the University of Paris-Cité under Georges Skandalis, where his work centered on noncommutative geometry. Notably, he advanced the study of maximally hypoelliptic differential operators by proving the Helffer-Nourrigat conjecture using C*-algebras of singular foliations and deriving a topological formula for their analytic index.
His research bridges noncommutative geometry with sub-Riemannian structures, leveraging operator algebras to address hypoellipticity. He has been recognized with the prestigious Peccot Course award from the Collège de France (2024-2025), proposed by Professor Nalini Anantharaman.
As a guest speaker, he will deliver a lecture series titled On Maximal Hypoellipticity and Sub-Riemannian Geometry at the Mireille Delmas-Marty Amphitheater in March-April 2025.
