Olu Jenzen

Olu Jenzen is Professor of Media and Digital Culture at University of Southampton's Winchester School of Art, where she serves as Deputy Head of Research and Faculty Director of Graduate Studies for Arts and Humanities.

Research Focus: Her work examines digital cultures through critical theory frameworks, with emphasis on LGBTQ+ youth communities, visual protest tactics, and creative methodologies. Current AHRC-funded projects investigate how community belonging enhances resilience and wellbeing in young populations.

Publications demonstrate consistent exploration of media discourses surrounding gender identity, humor as political resistance, and queer/feminist visual activism across global contexts.

As editor of Cultural Politics journal and co-editor of book series for Duke/Edinburgh University Presses, she shapes critical discourse in media-political intersections.
