Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of SolidsAbout
Dr. Oliver Stockert serves as Group Leader of the Neutron Spectroscopy group at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids (MPI CPfS) in Dresden and holds the position of Privatdozent at Dresden University of Technology since 2009. His research focuses on the critical dynamics and static properties of strongly correlated electron materials using neutron scattering techniques.
His research interests center on quantum critical phenomena in condensed matter systems, with particular emphasis on unconventional superconductors like CeCu2Si2, heavy-fermion compounds, and materials exhibiting geometric magnetic frustration. His experimental work investigates magnetic ordering phenomena and excitation spectra under extreme conditions including temperatures below 100 mK and magnetic fields exceeding 12 T.
Dr. Stockert leads the Neutron Spectroscopy research group within the Physics of Correlated Matter department at MPI CPfS, collaborating with research groups led by Inosov and Gibbs. His experimental work utilizes major European neutron sources to probe fundamental properties of quantum materials, with particular focus on understanding the relationship between magnetic structure, spin dynamics, and unconventional superconductivity.
