Olga Hannonen is a Visiting Researcher at the University of Eastern Finland’s Business School, Faculty of Social Sciences and Business Studies, specializing in lifestyle mobilities including digital nomadism, recreational properties, and nature-based tourism. Her research focuses on cross-border tourism dynamics, transnational second-home ownership, and the socio-economic impacts of residential tourism.

She has conducted extensive studies on Russian trans-border second-home ownership in Finland, residential tourism in Spain’s Gran Canaria, and angling tourism. Her work integrates geographic and socio-economic perspectives, examining how mobility patterns influence policy-making and community resilience.
