Ole J. Mjøs is a Professor in Media Studies at the Department of Information Science and Media Studies, University of Bergen. His research focuses on international communication, global media, and the intersection of media, cultural, and communications industries.

Ole's academic work explores media globalization, digital transformation, and regulatory frameworks. He has published extensively on Nordic media systems, public service broadcasting, and the role of social media in cultural mobility. His recent book Schibsted: The Digital Transformation of a Nordic Giant (Routledge, 2025) analyzes corporate digital adaptation. Earlier works include An Introduction to Global Media (2022), which received acclaim for its theoretical breadth.
Ole is a member of the international advisory board of Global Media and Communication and an elected member of the International Council of the International Association for Media and Communications Research (2024–2028). He has held visiting researcher positions at Lancaster University and the University of Pennsylvania.
