Oisin Cappa is a Research Fellow at the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences at Queen's University Belfast. His research focuses on molecular mechanisms underlying respiratory, cardiovascular, and age-related diseases.
Research Interests: Using single-cell RNA sequencing, Cappa investigates cellular senescence in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), microvascular dysfunction in diabetes, transcriptomic changes in cardiomyopathy, and host-pathogen interactions in bacterial infections. His work spans molecular biology, immunology, and nutritional genomics.
