Ofelia Riquezes Curiel is a Professor at Florida International University's Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs. Originally from Venezuela, she holds a PhD in Political Science from Universidad Simón Bolívar and a Master's degree in Human Rights, Rule of Law, and Democracy in Latin America from Universidad de Alcalá, Spain. Her research focuses on transitional justice processes in Latin America and international human rights law.

She remains a founding member of Universidad Metropolitana's Human Rights Center and contributes to its research projects. At FIU, she teaches ISS 6993: Transitional Justice and Global and Human Security.
