Octavian Buda is a Professor in the History of Medicine at Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy Bucharest, Romania, since 2009. He also serves as a Senior Forensic Psychiatrist at the National Institute of Legal Medicine ‘Mina Minovici’ since 2005.

His research spans intellectual history, bioethics, forensic psychiatry, and the social history of medicine, with a focus on epidemics and medical humanities. He has held leadership roles in international academic societies, including Past-President of the European Association for the History of Medicine and Health (EAHMH).
