Nsa Dada

Nsa Dada is an Assistant Professor at Arizona State University's School of Life Sciences and the Biodesign Center for Fundamental & Applied Microbiomics. She leads the Mosquito Microbiome Consortium, a global initiative advancing mosquito microbiome research. Her work focuses on understanding how microbial interactions influence mosquito biology, particularly in the context of insecticide resistance and vector-borne disease control.

Education: BSc Zoology (University of Calabar, Nigeria), MSc Biology & Control of Parasites & Disease Vectors (Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine), PhD Microbiology (Norwegian University of Life Sciences).

Research Interests: Microbial ecology of mosquitoes, evolutionary responses to insecticides, microbiome-based surveillance strategies, and global health equity in research collaboration.

Awards: Scialog Fellow (2022), Future Leader in International Medical Entomology Award (2021), ASM-CDC Postdoctoral Fellowship (2014), and multiple nominations for the Charles C. Shepard Award.

Teaching: Courses include Comparative Invertebrate Zoology, Undergraduate Research, and Special Topics in Biology. She designs bioinformatics training programs, such as the 2020 QIIME2 online course.

Labs/Teams: Dada Lab focuses on integrating molecular tools, genomics, and bioinformatics to study mosquito microbiome dynamics. Collaborations span institutions in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
