His research examines how message strategies in mass-mediated contexts (television, internet, social media) influence health behaviors, including HPV vaccination, tobacco cessation, e-cigarette use, and mental health stigma. Recent work explores entertainment media’s role in shaping attitudes toward stigmatized health groups and designing risk communication for public health campaigns.
Dr. Wong has received research funding from the National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute, and Oklahoma Tobacco Research Center. He serves on editorial boards of high-impact journals and reviews for public health publications.
