Dr. Norina Gasteiger is a Research Fellow at the University of Manchester with affiliations to the Nursing & Midwifery unit and NIHR ARC-GM Digital Health theme. She holds a PhD in Health Informatics from the University of Manchester, an MPH (Hons) and BHSc (Hons) from the University of Auckland, and is a Fellow of Advance HE.
Her research focuses on:
- Implementation and evaluation of digital health technologies including VR/AR training systems
- Development of socially assistive robots for healthcare settings
- mHealth app evaluation and co-design methodologies
- Public health informatics and pandemic response systems
Her publications demonstrate strong emphasis on mixed-methods approaches to evaluating digital health interventions, with recent work focusing on VR training for care home staff, socially assistive robots for older adults, and community-based digital health solutions.
