Professor Norbert Krause serves as Full Professor of Organic Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, Technical University of Dortmund since 1998. Previously, he held an Associate Professor position at the University of Bonn (1994-1998) and completed his habilitation at the Technical University of Darmstadt.
His research focuses on organocopper chemistry, stereoselective reactions, and organic synthesis methodologies. Key contributions include work on modified retinoids during his doctoral studies and investigations into regio- and stereoselectivity problems in organocuprate addition reactions during his habilitation.
Professor Krause has organized significant academic events including the International Symposium of Modern Organocopper Chemistry (2002) and the Chemiedozententagung (2004). He served as Dean of the Chemistry Department from 2005-2009 and was a member of the Editorial Board for the European Journal of Organic Chemistry (2006-2013).
