Nomi Kane is a Senior Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Comics Program at California College of the Arts (CCA). She is a professional cartoonist and illustrator with notable work in The New Yorker, The Nib, and MAD Magazine. A Berkeley native, she holds an MFA from The Center for Cartoon Studies (2011) and a BA from Columbia College Chicago (2006). Previously, she was a staff artist at the Schulz Studio (associated with Peanuts) and currently works as a designer at Super7. Her creative portfolio includes editorial cartoons, comic strips, and custom pet portraits.
Research interests span editorial cartooning, visual storytelling, and the intersection of humor with social commentary. Recent work critiques digital culture, political satire, and everyday life through graphic narratives. Her cartoons have explored topics like internet judgment, family dynamics, and modern consumer behavior.
Teaching focuses on fostering creativity in comics and visual arts within CCA’s graduate program. Collaborations include work with Peanuts Worldwide LLC on licensed merchandise design. Professional engagement includes youth programs and pedagogical innovation in art education.
