Sir Noel Malcolm is a Senior Research Fellow at All Souls College, University of Oxford, specializing in British and European early modern history with particular emphasis on intellectual history. His career spans editorial roles at The Spectator and Daily Telegraph, alongside academic positions at Cambridge and Oxford.
Research interests include:
- Textual scholarship on Thomas Hobbes (1588-1679), encompassing political philosophy, ethics, metaphysics, theology, biblical criticism, and optics
- Western Europe's engagement with the Ottoman/Islamic world during the early modern period
