Noah Silverberg

Dr. Noah Silverberg is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of British Columbia (UBC), affiliated with the Faculty of Arts. He works at both the Kenny Building (2136 West Mall) and GF Strong Rehab Centre (4255 Laurel St) as a clinician-scientist.

• PhD in Clinical Psychology (Clinical Neuropsychology specialty) from University of Windsor

His research focuses on psychosocial determinants of health in neurological disorders, particularly concussion and traumatic brain injury (TBI). He investigates psychological mechanisms like maladaptive thinking and coping styles that prolong symptoms, while developing novel treatments. Additional interests include neuropsychological assessment methods, cognitive rehabilitation, metacognition, functional neurological disorders, and implementation science.

Recent publications highlight his leadership in interdisciplinary brain injury research, particularly in concussion management guidelines, diagnostic accuracy studies, and rehabilitation strategies. Awards include the Dr. Joshua B. Cantor Scholar Award (2019), Health Professional Investigator Award (2017), and multiple clinician-scientist recognitions from Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute.

Dr. Silverberg actively supervises clinical psychology graduate students and leads the Coping with Neurological Symptoms (CNS) Lab, which studies brain health symptoms like memory difficulties and fatigue. The lab uses traditional and contemporary methodologies to develop interventions for neurological disorders.
