Noah Racey

Noah Racey is an Assistant Professor of Theatre and Head of Musical Theatre at Colorado State University (CSU). He is an award-winning actor, director, choreographer, and educator, with notable Broadway credits including Curtains, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Follies. As a director/choreographer, he contributed to Broadway’s The Terms of My Surrender and Thoroughly Modern Millie, and earned regional acclaim for works like Show Boat and Annie Get Your Gun. He founded the New York Song & Dance Company and serves as Associate Artistic Director of OpenStage Theatre & Company.

Education: Graduate of Boston Conservatory. Current roles at CSU include launching the Musical Theatre program and teaching master classes at institutions like Yale University and New York University.

Research interests focus on integrating performance art with educational methodologies, emphasizing musical theatre choreography and interdisciplinary arts collaboration. His original works include the solo memoir play Mountain Grove and Noah Racey’s: PULSE, which received extended runs and critical praise.

Awards: Connecticut Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Choreography (2013). Recognized for contributions to arts education and community outreach through U.S. Embassy collaborations in Jordan and Jerusalem.

Advising & Grants: Spearheaded CSU’s Musical Theatre program. Collaborates with Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. Advocates for public school arts funding.

Labs/Teams: Leads the New York Song & Dance Company (NYSDCo), performing at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, and co-directs OpenStage Theatre in Fort Collins.
