Nishith Prakash

Nishith Prakash is an Associate Professor with joint appointments in the Department of Economics and Human Rights Institute at the University of Connecticut. His research specializes in development economics, political economy, and behavioral economics, utilizing field experiments and large-scale data analysis to study human capital development in low-income regions.

Research Focus: Prakash investigates how government policies and institutions impact inclusive growth, with empirical work spanning education access, gender empowerment, mental health interventions, and poverty alleviation strategies across India, Nepal, Zambia, and Zanzibar.
