Nina Raitanen

Nina Raitanen is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Aalto University. Her work focuses on transportation systems, sustainable infrastructure, and materials science, particularly in noise reduction technologies for pavements. She holds a Doctor of Technology (2005), a Master of Science in Technology (1995), and a Bachelor of Science in Technology (1992) from the former Teknillinen korkeakoulu (now part of Aalto University).

Raitanen has contributed to projects like the HILJA initiative exploring quiet pavement technologies and has published on educational methodologies such as project-based learning (PBL) in sustainable transportation systems. Her research emphasizes practical applications in civil engineering, including material specifications and environmental impact assessments.
