Dr. Nina MacKenzie is a Clinical Research Fellow at the University of St Andrews School of Medicine, supported by the Wellcome Trust’s Multimorbidity PhD Programme for Health Professionals. She works under Professors Alexander Baldacchino, Frances Quirk, and Peter Donnelly, alongside Dr. Joe Tay. Previously, she completed core psychiatry training in 2017 and held a Scottish Clinical Leadership Fellowship with the Scottish Government, focusing on medical workforce planning and training quality management. She also serves as co-chair of a government working group on psychiatry workforce recruitment/retention.

- Interactions between long-term health conditions and harmful alcohol use
- Lived experiences of individuals with multiple long-term conditions (MLTCs) and alcohol misuse
- Care access barriers and facilitators for MLTCs and alcohol-related conditions
- Healthcare inequalities in mental health and substance use
