Nina Fischer

Nina Fischer is Professor of Experimental Film and Media Art at the University of the Arts Berlin. An internationally exhibited artist, she collaborates with Maroan el Sani on projects exploring cultural memory and urban transformation.

Her work investigates themes like environmental trauma, architectural legacy, and climate justice through film, installation, and multimedia. Notable projects include critiques of fascist architecture and nuclear contamination.

Recent exhibitions featured at Manifesta 13 Marseille, MAXXI Rome, and Sharjah Biennial. Films such as Freedom of Movement and Contaminated Home engage with socio-political narratives using experimental techniques.

Awards include the Karl-Hofer-Preis and residencies at Villa Aurora (Los Angeles) and Villa Massimo (Rome). She mentors emerging artists and leads research on speculative storytelling in climate contexts.
