Dr. Nina C. Dempsey is a Senior Lecturer in Haematology & Transfusion Medicine at Manchester Metropolitan University since 2013. She serves as Pathway Lead for the MSc Clinical Science and DClinSci programs in Haematology and Transfusion. Her research focuses on haematological markers' utility in critically ill patients, particularly sepsis and burns, with projects funded by NHSBT and collaborating with Mersey & West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Key areas include developing point-of-care diagnostic technologies and assessing organ donor immunological status. She teaches undergraduate/postgraduate courses on anaemias, haematological malignancies, and transfusion medicine. Supervision includes MRes, PhD, and DClinSci students.
