Nima Khakzad is an Associate Professor at Toronto Metropolitan University, affiliated with the School of Occupational and Public Health within the Faculty of Community Services. He holds a PhD in oil and gas engineering and is a Professional Engineer (PEng). His research focuses on safety assessment and management of petrochemical facilities, particularly addressing domino effects, natural-technological accidents, and terrorist threats. Prior to his current role (since 2019), he was with the Faculty of Technology, Policy, and Management at Delft University of Technology (2015–2019).
